Our Story
DocuTrial was created by the team at Sentral Clinical Research Services led by Dr. William Dirkes, a board certified anesthesiologist with experience in hospital, central IRB and clinical site administration. He was Department Chair at Christ Hospital in Cincinnati and then Vice-President of Medical Affairs where he oversaw the implementation of electronic medical records. It was then that he began thinking about the possibility of a simpler, more flexible and intuitive platform that would be better suited for clinicians and provide a better experience for patients. After 2 years as COO of an IRB Bill started his own research sites in 2010, called Sentral Clinical Research Services.
There he developed the Docutrial prototype. The staff were trained on a Monday and started taking patients for a new study on Tuesday. By Friday his staff came to him unsolicited and asked if they could put all their studies on the new platform! By Monday all the other studies were loaded and ready to go!
Docutrial has been used in over 150 studies and no sponsor has ever rejected a site request to use Docutrial as their data management platform.
